until death if necessary, yes. Only if 1 of them gives up early enough she can survive but very often you will loose both of them. There were a lot of stories here in this forum on this topic. if 1 queen already has a nest, normally she will defend it but if the other queen is stronger or bigger… so always check the houses and close the Mottenklappe as early as possible. Foreign queens will not be familiar with it.

Yes I now but they were to agression to me and It is for the waxmotte raupen they are wet but if they go in the nest they spread it out and it can help to.

There are no young queens only big workers on the video you think that they are young queens but it are big workers

This is a very good looking terrestris nest, congratulations. And I think I saw some young queens. So then it is totally normal that the queen try to kill the egg laying workers and their eggs – but the time will come and the workers will kill their mother and lay male eggs. This is totally normal. Just keep on watching.

Here 2 video’s you can see the queen lay eggs.And before I start to record The queen has kill a worker because he was eating here eggs!!! Aim happy because It was not me.So helena It was the queen not me.^^ There are bigger larf in the nest I think that the queen has start this week with queen and drone brood.The video’s are some times bad because the bumblebees were attacking me.And the spray that you hear is for the waxmotte raupen.And it keeps the workers still because they are wet:

Also mein Gartenhummelvolk war äusserst vital und das Haus steht im Schatten. Zu der Zeit, als es plötzlich einging, war es auch noch nicht so heiss. Ich weiss einfach, dass noch vor einem Wochenende die Arbeiterinnen unterwegs waren und dann kurz darauf nix mehr. Und alle Tiere tot im Nest. Die Larven haben sich auch nicht mehr entwickelt (war dann wieder kälter geworden).
Aber man müsste die Tiere untersuchen, um z.B. Gift festzustellen, aber ich hab damals ja auch hier darüber berichtet.
Aber bei Helgas Volk denke ich auch, ein Südost-Balkon ist für Hummelhaltung wohl ungeeignet, selbst im Schatten wird der im Sommer zu warm.
