Erkki: Helle Erdhummeln Bombus lucorum in Gefangenschaft

>in 2007 and 2009, I had one-two colonies. A colonie was very big, it has more than 280 workers, in 2009. The first new queens were born two and one week after the first visiting of the nest box. The species has got a very short cycle. I don’t know why? But you can compare these species with Bombus cryptarum who has a short cycle too.

Hello,
Thank you very much. You have a good forum and good advice bumble bee rearing. I’m going to try out next spring, Bombus lucorum breeding outdoors. I hope that the the queen does not abandon the nest, because the spring is a little nourishment after the willows have bloomed out.
